Hesed Lee
Discovering Yourself in God through Creative Art
Do you enjoy the creative process? God is the creator of this world. God has created each and every one of us in His unique Imago Dei and with the purpose of our lives. Living in this fast-paced, superficial, and consumerism culture, we have so little time to slow down and notice God and our identity in God. Through this seminar, you will be given a space to think about yourself in God's light and express yourself through creative mediums. We will also discuss the process and what you have discovered through this creative process. Hesed Lee is a pastor/missionary and Artist. She is currently serving as co-president of Streamside Ministry and Youth Pastor at San Jose Korean Presbyterian Church. Hesed loves beauty and is passionate in making creative space where the Spirit touches and brings freedom and wholeness to people’s lives. She desires to create a place where people can go deeper, where people can be real and honest. She graduated from Otis College of Art and Design with Communication Art and finished her Masters in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Talbot Seminary. She received her doctoral degree from Portland seminary in Leadership and Spiritual Formation with an emphasis on Art and Faith. She has two very active children. Joy is a senior in high school, and Jayden is in 8th grade. She loves spending time in nature, painting, art-making, and going on mission trips.

Hannah Kang
Faith & Fairness: Embracing Social Justice with a Biblical Perspective*
2020 was a tumultuous year for social justice when #Blacklivesmatter garnered national attention and the pandemic made the Asian-American community vulnerable to anti-Asian hate and racism. Four years later, the chaos of 2020 feels like a distant memory. So where and how does social justice and advocacy exist now? More specifically, how do we, as Christians, embrace and pursue social justice as God intended and not like the world does? Join Faith and Fairness to get the conversation going around what it means to fight for social justice with a Biblical perspective. Hannah Kang currently works at Northeastern University supporting students at the intersection of career development and corporate partner engagement. She comes with almost 10 years of experience working with young adults from various settings like college ministries, nontraditional career pathways, and those at graduate levels. She is passionate about social justice, equity, and impact. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education at Northeastern University as she seeks to equip herself while equipping others in areas of social justice and leadership in the Asian-American community. *Please note that this seminar will be available to high school students and above

David Kim
Calling all Worship Leaders
What is worship? How do we lead it, and how does music play into it? Does the worship leader have to play an acoustic guitar? Do they have to sound nice? Why or why not? In this seminar, designed for current members and leaders of worship teams, we will discuss the underlying theology that addresses what worship is, and how we lead it. Then we will discuss how music plays into it! David is a traveling speaker and pastor passionate about the role of the creative arts in personal and corporate faith. Why did God make us artists? What is art, and how is it designed to be used? David believes that the answer to such questions will allow artists within the Christian community to live with a deep sense of call and responsibility. He currently pastors the college and young adult community at NCBC, located in Mountain View, as he pursues his passion for drumming, pottery, dance, theology, and good food.

Min Jae Shin
Biblical Stewardship and Finance
Ever since the Pandemic, more and more people are interested in making more money. The stock market and financial planners are more accessible than ever. People have so many questions about the markets yet there are so few with expertise who can share their insights nearby. The Bible talks about money and life more than we think and holds the answer. The seminar will go into this topic biblical stewardship and money and how Christians should approach finance. Min Jae Shin graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major in Econ/Stats and is currently a financial analyst at a Quasi-Government Bank and has a passion to improve financial literacy grounded under Biblical beliefs. In his free time, Min Jae reads books, plays tennis, and goes out for a run.

You’ll leave with tools to “prototype” your next steps, courage to try new things, and confidence that God has uniquely called you to make a difference in the world. Eunice Lee
Worldly Love vs. Godly Love: A Christian’s Guide to Biblical Dating
In a culture where dating often centers on fleeting attraction, instant gratification, and self-centered desires, Christians are called to a radically different approach—one that reflects God's love and purpose. This seminar will help participants understand how to navigate relationships in a way that honors God. We will examine the foundations of worldly love—focused on self, convenience, and temporary pleasure—and compare them with the biblical principles of sacrificial love, commitment, and purity. As someone who has questioned, studied, and applied these same principles of Christian dating in her own life, Eunice has found that there truly is a different and God-honoring approach to dating. By examining he own testimony of dating and what the scriptures have to say about it, we’ll unpack the same biblical principles that helped her understand how Christians should approach dating, including how to prioritize spiritual growth, establish healthy boundaries, and discern God's will in relationships. Eunice Lee is a second-generation Korean American educator born and raised in the Bay Area. Recognizing her passion and gift for teaching early on, she pursued a career in education and now teaches elementary students in a public school. Beyond the classroom, Lee is deeply committed to discipleship and nurturing meaningful, Christ-centered relationships. Her heart is to guide others in growing their faith and pursuing a closer walk with Jesus.

Jiwon Hong
Communicating with God through Quiet Time (in Korean)
Christians believe in God and read the Bible as the living Word of God to understand God’s will and plan. However, many Christians are challenged in understanding the Word of God and spending regular time with God on a daily basis. In this seminar, you will learn to prepare the heart to spend intimate and quiet time with God and focus to communicate and build the relationship with God personally. We will learn to ask deeper questions and apply the daily bread that comes from meditating the Word of God. We will also learn to reflect the context and apply the lessons to our life as a disciple of Christ. Pastor Jiwon Hong is currently serving with Streamside Ministry and Unravel Church. She graduated from Gateway Seminary with MDiv. degree. She has been leading many Quiet Time (QT) groups and small groups over the years in her community and church in the Bay Area. Many members of the QT groups have experienced transformation and growth in faith through spending regular time with God. She is passionate about helping Christians communicate with God and grow their faith. She enjoys food, collecting snoopy, and traveling to new places. *Please note that this seminar will be conducted in Korean

Julie Choi
What does the Old Testament have to do with me?
For many people the Old Testament is cloaked in mystery. When people become Christians, they are encouraged to read the Bible, but they are often directed to the New Testament. Many Christians spend their whole life reading primarily the New Testament books or if they do start reading in the Old Testament, they usually only make it through the first few books before getting frustrated and jumping back to the New Testament. Part of the difficulty is that very few people understand the link between the Old Testament and the New Testament and do not see them as one story. In our normal course of life, no one sits down to read a book by starting in the middle and reading to the end. If this were done, so much would be lost in the sense of the book. In fact, perhaps, one would run the risk of missing the whole point of the story. It is no different with the Bible, the most unique story. Even though the Bible is composed of 66 books, written by multiple human authors over a period of nearly 2000 years, it is one story and can only be truly understood and appreciated when read as one Story. Come and discover the amazing ways God continues to communicate with His people: then, now, and forever.

PARENTS SEMINAR (12/29, 4pm)
Dr. Ji Chu (추지혜)
